urinals - negative capability

late 70s LA punk band that I imagine were pretty into nuggets compilations and girls and shithouse recordings and repetitivness.

I'm pretty positive no age covered them for a 7" a while back for abit of a touchstone for you.

Thick Shakes

Thick Shakes - Baby You're a Starfish from Samantha Pitchel on Vimeo.

Gone are the days where bands needed to be dressed head to toe in black 1000 pound vintage jackets coupled with moody cunty attitudes to make garage pop rock. The greened out California San Fran thing is really taking hold. I like this band for a number of reasons besides their tunes - the guy has big thighs so do i and he kind of looks like the dude who got fucked over by Zuckerberg and now is just having fun. I like fun.

I can even forgive them for playing infront of a bike store, but who knows they might be taking the piss...by the actions of the dude in the white shirt going about a failed demolition attempt i think they may just be.

The vocal quality of this video aint that grand but imagine she swallowed the moustached dude from Le Tigre and is singing from the stomach.

Contax T2

Contax T2 - Still trying to figure this little dude out even though it's just a P&S i seem to be cutting everything off or focusing on the wrong thing, not using the flash correctly etc...basically i'm fucking useless. Anyway here are some shots from the last roll.

Beat Happening

Surely not the first beat happening album I've put on here but hay, these guys are the greatest band that ever existed.
- Lyrics that were written on butchers paper with chewed on crayons.
- Drums made out of wet cardbord boxes
- melodies that are untouchable

I've found myself listening to this album an awful lot lately trying to kick the habit of listening exclusively to heavy music because thats a pretty serious and boring lifestyle. These guys are like the POLAR opposite to metal, its great.

B.R.M.C Second Melbourne sideshow

Black Rebel have just annonunced their second and final show in Melbourne on Saturday 31 July at Billboard. They did this with Brian Jonestown as well, and it annoys the shit out of me however if you missed out on the first round tickets go on sale on Friday June 11, 9am

Gig -Sat 31st July at Billboard

The Age Is All Sport

Andy Kaufman

this is only the tip of the iceberg with this guys genius. You ever wonder why the American Wrestling Industry is still going? WWF/WWE/RAW/Undertaker etc etc etc. I, in my modest opinion believe it to be Kaufman v Lawler. If you have an hour or so spare research this grudge match epic, it will teach you about viral marketing today.
